Welcome Aubrey Powell:

We’re joined on the Starline by Pink Floyd’s creative director & head of innovative art studio Hipgnosis. His memoir is “Through the Prism: Untold Rock Stories from the Hipgnosis Archive”. We welcome Aubrey Powell.

Po, let’s go Beyond the Mic this work was started with your favorite pictures scattered on the floor from your archives. How easy was it to narrow down these amazing stories to just what you cover in “Through the Prism”?

How has your friendship with Storm Thorgerson changed you?

Your photos take advantage of space, light and let the personality of the target & your lens shine. What is your favorite camera to shoot with today?

I know it is like choosing a child, but as you started to spread them out which photo resonates maybe good, maybe bad, just differently than any other?

The Rockin’ 8:

It’s time for the Rockin’ 8, 8 random questions; answer with the first thing that comes to your mind. There is no Pressure.

1. Best place you’ve ever taken a photo?

2. Would you rather ask permission or for forgiveness?

3. Place you’ve wanted to visit but never have?

4. What was your 1st job?

5. Person who had the best smile?

6. Who was the 1st concert you ever saw?

7. Who would you want to spend the last day of your life with?

8. Favorite alcoholic drink?

One Big Question:

Has artwork creativity disappeared from the vinyl days?

The Wrap:

The creative days of vinyl are gone. He loves the smile of Paul McCartney and his book is “Through the Prism: Untold Rock Stories from the Hipgnosis Archive” is out now. We thank Aubrey Powell for taking the time to talk with us today.
