Nick, let’s go Beyond the Mic growing up in St. Louis, how did those early days prepare you for your career in comedy?
What was the best thing about college at Mizzou?
When your academic counselor told you to try something different than college, what did you first think? Was it like Bingo or uhhhh thanks?
You won the 2011 Andy Kaufman award. Andy saw the box that everybody has the world in completely differently. How do you see Andy Kaufman differently than everybody else?
There are certain comedians, like Stephen Wright, if you don’t understand him, you won’t see the comedic genius that’s in it. ‘I stuck my car key in my apartment and it started right up, so I drove it around for a while.’ It’s one of the great jokes that he told with such deadpan, people were like, is he serious?

When you are on the road you get to see other people sets. You’re working out your own materical and it helped evolve who you are as a comedian. Who mentored you in comedy?
So, how has your comedy evolved from Mizzou to now?
You’ve been on Conan and Fallon. You have your hard 6, the six minutes of jokes you’ve honed. How do you handle pressure of the stage and touring when something that may have been funny, now might not be or vice versa?
