Author Giovanni Ruscitti on “Cobblestones, Conversations & Corks”

Welcome Giovanni:

We’re joined on the Starline by a first generation Italian-American who was named one of the most influential business leaders in Colorado. His father urged him to “tell our story”. So he did in “Cobblestones, Conversations and Corks”. We welcome founding and managing partner of Berg, Hill, Greenleaf and Ruscitti, author Giovanni Ruscitti.

Giovanni, let’s go Beyond the Mic. What did you think your family’s heritage was before and after your father urged you to tell your story?

How has visiting Cansano changed you and your family?

How has the last couple of years been after the loss of Rina and your father?

The Rockin’ 8:

It’s time for the Rockin’ 8, 8 random questions; answer with the first thing that comes to your mind. There is no Pressure.

1. Favorite place in Cansano?

2. Which was harder, preparing for the bar exam or writing the book?

3. Favorite Italian dish?

4. One thing you want to change in the world?

5. Favorite Italian wine?

6. How similar are you to your younger self? How did this experience going to Italy change you?

7. Longest ride you’ve taken on a bike?

8. Are you a fan of naps yet?

The Back Half:

In the book your uncle says “they don’t buy lamb or cheese from me but that’s ok.” He goes up, introduces himself. How do relationships in Italy seem to have more significance than in the U.S.?

What’s one story of your life that you want your kids to know that changed you into the man you are today?

One Big Question:

If you could have one more moment with Rina and your father, what would you want to do with each of them?

The Wrap:

He feels home at the piazza in Cansano, loves mentoring and wants you to read “Cobblestones, Conversations and Corks”. Author Giovanni Ruscitti thanks for taking the time to talk with us today.

And that my friends is Beyond the Mic.
