Welcome Kenny Becker:

We’re joined on the Starline by a LA-based musician and artist. His grungy melancholy band’s latest album is “Hour of Green Evening”. We welcome the front man of the favorite band to your favorite band “Goon”, Kenny Becker.

Kenny, let’s go Beyond the Mic. You recorded the record in Glendale for ten days deep in the middle of the pandemic. How did the pandemic help or hurt the creation of “Hour of Green Evening”?

How did that change the sound? Did it make it darker?

If someone was to hear Goon for the first time, what would they experience?

You have all sorts of instruments behind you whether it be a keyboard, violins etc. So you can create music the moment inspiration strikes?

Capturing that moment in time, how easy does it make writing?

Kenny how is music created for Goon? Are you lyrics first or a snippet of audio that turns into a melody?

Why does music touch your soul?

Would you rather go back to being a lab assistant to Pathway Genomics or just rock?

The Rockin’ 8:

We’re here Kenny Becker from Goon and It’s time for the Rockin’ 8, 8 random questions; answer with the first thing that comes to your mind. There is no Pressure.

1. Favorite class at San Diego Miramar?

2. Kenny, you talked about there is a sculpture in every block so if you could paint with any medium, what do you prefer?

3. Best three albums of all time?

4. Weirdest show story?

5. If you took up wrestling, what would be your stage name?

6. Best place you’ve ever played a gig at?

7. Have you ever thought of giving up music?

8. Almost everyone during the pandemic experienced the loss of taste that you deal with on a daily basis. When you aren’t suffering as bad, what’s the one thing you love to eat?

The Back Half with:

Kenny, why does your band fit right now?

Who inspires you musically?

Talk about the rest of the band, what makes them so special to you?

You’re always playing, writing, recording or sleeping, does your brain ever stop?

Kenny, how has California influence this album?

Let’s talk about Emily. How has your wife Emily change your life, your hopes and dreams?

Break down “Hour of Green Evening”. What are your favorite songs on there and which song are people raving over and you aren’t happy with?

Kenny, What’s one thing people don’t know about you?

One Big Question:

There is a glimmer, a small star of light surrounded by the darkness your album portrays. Where do you see the light in the world right now?

The Wrap:

He has to keep Dylan off of amps, loves Mediterranean food and plays Mario Cart to relax. Catch Goon out on tour now. We thank Kenny Becker for taking the time to talk with us today.
