Dan DiDio on “Hide or Seek”

Dan Didio sent hamburgers through interoffice envelopes, loves The Blob and wants you to read “Hide or Seek: the Superpower Protection Program”. Let’s go Beyond the Mic.

Welcome Dan DiDio:

We’re joined on the Starline by former DC Comics writer, publisher and editor. His latest project released is ‘Hide or Seek: The Superpower Protection Program”. We welcome author Dan DiDio.

Dan, let’s go Beyond the Mic. Your character Nick Pappas’ dad was killed on national television. Nick never knew his dad was a superhero and sent away to the All-American town of Crucible. But nothing is what it seems. Why was writing this so fun for you?

You seem to have incredible artists & writers at your beck and call. As this story was written, why were Anthony and Chris the best choice to help you with this project?

You’ve teamed up with Frank Miller for “Frank Miller Presents” and are currently writing Ancient Enemies. How has writing this series tested you?

How does building a world easier when there aren’t any preexisting parameters?

The Rockin’ 8:

It’s time for the Rockin’ 8, 8 random questions; answer with the first thing that comes to your mind. There is no Pressure.

1. Favorite ABC Afterschool Special?

2. Least favorite DC Comic?

3. Do you have hope for the Blue Beetle movie?

4. Best thing about Grant Morrison?

5. What is your typical White Castle order?

6. Favorite horror movie of all time?

7. Best spot at Brooklyn college campus to think?

8. How many comics do you own personally?

One Big Question:

As Marvel and DC both try and figure out what they are in TV, movies and in their own realms, who do you think has the potential to step up and make the biggest impact in your industry?

The Wrap:

Dan Didio sent hamburgers through interoffice envelopes, loves the blob and wants you to read “Hide or Seek: the Superpower Protection Program”. Dan thanks for taking the time to talk with us today.
