Welcome Gio Benitez
We’re joined on the Starline by a correspondent for ABC News. He’s covered aviation, space, railroads and the auto industry. His latest project is “I Survived a Crime” on A&E. We welcome Gio Benitez.
Gio, let’s go Beyond the Mic. In every 30 minute episode, you show people confronted with a dangerous situation and the decisions they made to survive. Why was this project important for you?
The emotions victims have to relive can be daunting. How challenging was it to have these survivors relive an experience that could have ended their lives?
I’ve heard that you haven’t turned down a story. Anyone you’ve pre-interviewed has ended up as a story because getting them to relive it could be traumatic and reopen some wounds.
As your producers find these individuals and you examine their stories, have you found yourself second guessing their decisions with your own?
Which story of the 1st season touched you the most?
The Rockin’ 8:
Time is running out, so it’s time for the Rockin’ 8, 8 random questions; answer with the first thing that comes to your mind. There is no Pressure.

2. Favorite class from your time Florida International University?
3. Place you love to visit?
4. Thing in your go bag people wouldn’t normally think to put in?
5. Favorite ballet performance you’ve ever seen?
6. Favorite ride at Walt Disney World?
7. Snow or Water skiing?
