We’re joined on the Starline by a member of Season 20 of NBC’s “The Voice”. The Pasadena, California native was wanted by John Legend during the blind auditions. We welcome Christine Cain.
Christine, let’s go Beyond the Mic growing up you weren’t interested in music. It was dance and cheerleading. How did your path change to music?
How did you find out you were going to be part of the show and how surprised were you that while others may have been on this path for such a long time and you get picked? Your blind audition was your 4th time ON A STAGE SINGING!
Where were you when you first got the call, what was going through your mind? There has to be some losing your mind emotions going through your head…
What were you doing before quarantine?
As you perform we can see you becoming one with the music, how has music changed the way you see yourself?
You love music, who are the musicians who you look up to as you grew up?
You get to work with John Legend and Brandy. Talk about the nerves just singing before them? Did your throat get a little dry?
Then getting Brandy to say she wants to sing your two versions of the song? You made it grown up?
Is your heart pounding through your chest?
Talk about your battle partner Pia and how did the two of your prepare for your battle?
What emotions did you go through as the battle ended, John picks Pia and part of you has to be disappointed and part of you has to be proud for getting this far? The emotions have to be mixed?
