“I see life as a situation… we continue to learn every day throughout life.” – William Lee Golden
Welcome William Lee Golden:
We’re joined on the Starline by one fourth of the band with Grammy’s, Dove, ACM & CMA awards. Out on their American Made farewell tour right now. We welcome the golden baritone of the legendary Country Music Hall of Fame band The Oak Ridge Boys William Lee Golden.
William, let’s go Beyond the Mic. You’ve been fortunate as part of such a special band that has made an impact on country music and lives around the world. What does music mean to you?
You’ve talked about the losses. In the past 18 months, you’ve lost 16 friends, family members and parts of your heart. Why have the love of your family, wife, kids, grandkids, strengthened you all these years?
The Oak Ridge Boys video “Come on Home” was filmed at your Golden Era Plantation. Why is Golden Era special to you especially after getting hit by two tornadoes?
The Rockin’ 8:
William Lee Golden from The Oak Ridge Boys is here Beyond the Mic and it’s time for the Rockin’ 8, 8 random questions, answer with the first thing that comes to your mind. There is no Pressure.
1. When did you shave your legendary beard last?
2. If you were to be reincarnated as an animal, which animal would it be?
3. What’s the one chore at home your wife depends on you to do?
4. Favorite gospel song of all time?
5. Which place you’ve visited that a photo or painting could never capture its beauty?

Sneaking in A Couple More:
My favorite Oak Ridge Boys song is Baby When Your Heart Breaks Down cause I used the 1 minute version to time up to news when I worked overnights. What’s yours?
What does this one last tour that doesn’t have an end yet mean to you?
How have the fans of the Oak Ridge Boys changed your life?
How has your vision of life changed from you 1st started this journey?
One Big Question:
When people look back at your life and everything you have touched, what do you want them to remember?
The Wrap:
He had to go to summer school growing up, would either be a bear or an eagle if he could. He wants you to see the Oak Ridge Boys out on tour near you.
