Welcome Robin & Matt:
We’re joined on the Starline by two stars of the band that have rocked and reggaed since 1978 in Birmingham. Their upcoming album UB45 releases in 2023 to celebrate 45 years. We welcome Robin Campbell & Matt Doyle of UB40.
Friends, let’s go Beyond the Mic. Robin, you’ve said in the past the only reason you wanted to be in a band was to be with your brother. UB40 has been a family for nearly 45 years. After Brian & Terence passed, how hard was it to create music?
Matt, when UB40 asked you to take over for Duncan, what went through your mind?
Why do you think UB40 has endured through the years? What’s the one factor that has kept the band going?
Matt “Champion” is the anthem for the Commonwealth Games. Why is this such an honor for UB40 & you?
The Rockin’ 8:
It’s time for the Rockin’ 8, 8 random questions; answer with the first thing that comes to your mind. Since we have two guests, we will alternate questions but as always there is no Pressure.
1. Robin, person you idolized growing up?
2. Matt, band you idolized growing up?
3. Robin, what is your favorite movie?
4. Matt, what is your favorite meal?
5. Robin, are you an introvert or extrovert?
6. Matt, favorite of all of the Commonwealth games events?
7. Robin, how about your favorite?
8. Matt, who’s your favorite member of UB40 other than Robin?
One Big Question:
How did the pandemic change the way you look at music?
What do you have to say to your fans?
