Welcome Richard Sterban:
We’re joined on the Starline by one fourth of the harmony of a band with Grammy’s, Dove, ACM & CMA awards. They are out on tour with their next stop near you. We welcome the “oom-papa mow-mow” of the legendary Country Music Hall of Fame band The Oak Ridge Boys Richard Sterban.
Thank you Richard, let’s go Beyond the Mic, you left Elvis 50 years ago to join this fellowship of music. How has your life been blessed since then?
When fans see an Oak Ridge Boys show, they still see the high energy show they’ve always seen. Why is that important to the band?
How did the pandemic scare you? What did you during the time? How did your mindset change?
You said the crowd feedback fuels you. When did you think “hey, I can do this?” where does your love of music come from?
When you are on the road, what do you do on your down times? Hobbies, etc?
The Rockin’ 8:
It’s time for the Rockin’ 8, 8 random questions; answer with the first thing that comes to your mind. There is no Pressure.
1. Favorite Elvis song?
2. The one thing your wife Donna has to have you do when you get back from the road?
3. What song gives you the most joy to sing?
4. What do you want your legacy to be?
5. Best gift you ever got from your kids?
6. Do you get seasick?
7. Who’s your favorite baseball player of all time?
8. Best place in New Jersey to think?
The Back Half with Richard Sterban:
What’s the one moment when you were the happiest on tour?
Being on tour for 50 years, it could become routine or mundane. But every time you hit the stage it seems fresh. It has to because of the love of music. Why has music touched your soul?
What do you have to tell singers and songwriters who dream one day to be just like you?
One Big Question:
How has Nashville changed for the better and how has Nashville changed for the worse?
What’s one story you haven’t told before but is important for you to tell before you leave?
What do you have to tell your fans?
