Welcome Robby:

We’re joined on the Starline by bassist, singer, co-founding member of the Goo Goo Dolls. We welcome Robby Takac.

Robby, let’s go Beyond the Mic. How did the pandemic change the way you look at music?

Four decades of sharing your music, it’s your first tour in three years, how does getting back to to those arenas and normalcy help you?

There are so many songs in your library, so many songs you can pick from.  Talk about the difficulty in putting together a set list that makes the old school and new school fans both happy?

The rock and roll lifestyle isn’t for everyone. How do you look back on your past and how would you change it if you could?

Why is “Chaos in Bloom” different? What makes it such an different record in your mind?

The Rockin’ 8:

It’s time for the Rockin’ 8, 8 random questions; answer with the first thing that comes to your mind. There is no Pressure.

1. Favorite place to play?

2. How has Miyoko helped you all these years?

3. Do you sleep on your stomach, side or back?

4. Favorite rock album of all time that isn’t yours?

5. What was your first bass guitar and do you still have it?

6. Do you go with the flow or against the grain of life?

7. Thing you enjoy doing with your daughter?

8. Who was the first celebrity you met that you lost your mind?

The Back Half with:

Robby, how has your relationship with John change & evolve over these years?

Where’s your favorite place at home to just think?

You want to give back and create opportunities with your “Music is Art” project. Why was creating this important to you and who was the first person that was touched by this project?

You run your own music label Good Charamel Music.

There are always good stories from the road. What’s one where if you didn’t tell it, it might be lost?

How has the Goo Goo Dolls changed you?

One Big Question with Robby Takac :

Why does music feed your soul?

Let me put it another way. You have a studio in your house. You have a choice to walk past it or go in and create. Why do you create?

The Wrap:

Loves going to the drive in with his daughter, watched Star Wars with Alice Cooper and likes to go with the flow against the grain. Robby Takac from the Goo Goo Dolls, thanks for taking the time to talk with us today.

And that my friends is Beyond the Mic.
