We’re joined on the Starline by one of the most underrated actors around. You’ve known him as Darkseid, Captain Oliver Hudson, Ham Tyler, Jester all the way back to Soldier on Train. He wants to be shown the evidence. He plays the hard-nosed investigator in the film “Confession”. We welcome Michael Ironside.
Michael, let’s go Beyond the Mic. You’ve been a voice actor, director, and probably have your choice of roles. Why was this movie one you liked?
That’s not the typical role for you. You normally play the villain. Cause you only get hit once at the end.

Michael Ironside Bio:
A renowned character actor with a devoted cult following, Michael Ironside has well over 300 Film and Television credits to his name. Born in Canada, he studied at the Ontario College of Art, and at the Canadian National Film Board. After working on numerous Canadian film and television productions, both in front of and behind the camera, he came to the forefront in David Cronenberg’s sci-fi hit Scanners (1981), garnering a Genie Award for Best Supporting Actor. This was the beginning of scores of nominations and awards Michael has garnered thus far. This paved the way to roles including leads in Top Gun and Total Recall. Some of his other box office hit films include Starship Troopers, The Perfect Storm, Terminator Salvation, The Machinist and X-Men: First Class.
Michael’s success in TV is just as illustrious and expansive. Michael has both starred in and had guest starring roles in multiple hit series. Most recently in the Emmy nominated hit, Barry, and in a recurring guest role in The Dropout. Previously he appeared in a 4 episode arc on The Alienist, and in a recurring guest on This is Us. Prior to that Michael was well known to audiences for his work on ER, Desperate Housewives, Smallville and his seminal role in V.
