Sportswriter / Author Reid Forgrave

Welcome Reid Forgrave:

We’re joined on the Starline by an award winning sportswriter, author and father. His first book ”Love, Zac” talks about a sport loved around the United States football. He tries to answer the question, “what happened to Zac Easter?” We welcome Reid Forgrave

Let’s go Beyond the Mic, Reid “Love, Zac” is a passionate detective story written a part cautionary tale and part love story. Is that how you’d describe this book?

You’ve covered the NBA, NFL, college football & basketball. Why was Zac’s story so important for you to tell others?

You thrive on long form stories from covering covid to elections. How heartbreaking was it to read Zac’s diaries and his 39 page document labeled “Concussions: My Silent Struggle”?

Where did Zac get the concept of playing through pain? Was it a coach, his father? How did it change his life?

Did Zac lose hope with his brain pretty much being broken?

We’re talking with Author Reid Forgrave Beyond the Mic. Let’s cut to the million dollar question, what do you believe needs to be done to save more men like Zac?

Will you let your sons play football?

Did you reach a point in writing “Love, Zac” where you broke down, where you couldn’t do it anymore?

If you could tell Zac and players like Zac who are suffering right now something, what is it?

Have you been in touch with Zac’s former girlfriend Ali and how is she doing right now?

Is your next book going to be telling the story of COVID with “Lives on the Line”?

The Rockin’ 8

Time is running out, so it’s time for the Rockin’ 8, 8 random questions, answer with the first thing that comes to your mind.
